Watamu will be hosting a fun filled weekend (19th and 20th July 2014), including a variety of adrenalin and water sports such as skydiving, kite surfing, windsurfing, whale watching and scuba diving.

Watamu is ideally positioned to host a wide range of activities, having such a diverse and beautiful environment coupled with numerous businesses and organsations. These include marine and community associations, dive and watersports operators, environmental experts such as A Rocha, Watamu Turtle Watch and Bio-Ken Snake Farm, and of course plenty of hotels, bars and restaurants offering fantastic accommodation and dining options.

The weekend has been organised by Watamu Marine Association (WMA) in partnership with local hotels and organisations. WMA is a unique initiative at the Kenyan coast. Members come from the community, tourism and environment sectors.

Activity providers and offers at the Watamu Wet and Wild Weekend include:

  • Tribe Watersports are offering are offering 10% discount on Kitesurfing, Windsurfing and Kayaking.
  • Skydive Diani are offering tandem jumps at KEs 30,000.
  • Aqua Ventures are offering 15% off all dive prices and free trial sessions in the pool.

Hemingways Resort will be at the centre of the action, and are offering half price fish and chips during the day and discounted Thai buffet on Saturday night.

The Saturday Night party will be at Ocean Sports, with music being pumped out under the very capable control of DJ BrettSki. 

Watamu is getting back up to full steam after the low season, with hotels, bars and restaurants re-opened and welcoming visitors back from all parts of the world.
