Takaungu is a small coastal village about 50 kilometres north of Mombasa and 10 kilomteres south of Malindi. The quaint village is situated above Takaungu Creek, a relatively small, yet stunning creek which reaches inland into a dense mangrove forest.
A quiet part of of the Kenyan coast, Takaungu has a small, beautiful, yet quiet beach. There are no major resorts in Takaungu, and only a few options for accommodation.
Another historic part of the coast - Takaungu was once a slave trading port.
