Tana River
The Tana River Delta covers an area of over 300,000 acres, and is one of Kenya's most important freshwater wetland eco-systems.
Compirsed of a wide variety of habitats including crocodile infested river channels, open grassy plains, coastal forest & scrub, towering sand dunes, acacia bush land, salt & fresh water marshes, dense mangrove forests, as well as wide mud flats, and vast sand beaches.
The Delta is a fragile and threatened eco-system, with both flora & fauna as well as local communites under threat from the potential demise of the habitat.
