Nursery and Primary School, Takaungu
'An International Primary and Nursery School
Kivukoni School is an International Primary and Nursery School in Kilifi District, 6km from Kilifi town. The beautifully designed open school buildings are set in a peaceful rural location next to the small Takaungu ferry crossing Kivukoni - from where it gets its name.
Kivukoni School began as Furaha Kidzone Nursery in Kilifi town, where it became so popular it grew into the full Primary School it is today! It now caters for children from Playgroup (age of 2-3 years) up until Year 6 (10-11 years). From here the children have a good foundation to move onto Secondary Schools elsewhere, be it international system or 8-4-4 schools.
The varied and challenging curriculum and the emphasis on building self-esteem and effective communication are what parents have most enjoyed about Kivukoni School. The warm and trusting atmosphere, the creative approach to learning and the plentiful and inspiring activities are what make Kivukoni a place where children really do love to learn.
The facilities have all been purpose built in sympathy both with children’s learning needs and the natural environment. It is run completely on solar power and has its own fresh water supply; very small carbon footprints - a good place to start for the new generation.' - Kivukoni School
