Ruto Recommends Best Spot Foreigners Can Enjoy Wild Meat

President William Ruto has asked tourists visiting Kenya to treat their taste buds to wild meat served at Carnivore Gardens on the outskirts of Nairobi City.

The Head of State was responding to a question fielded by the moderator of the Kauffman Fellows Africa Venture Capitalists Summit held in Nairobi on Monday. The foreigner had asked  Ruto to recommend restaurants to the summit’s delegates.

Ruto observed that the menu featured various game meats, including crocodile and other wild animals.

“You can go to Carnivore next to the national park. You will find game meat if you haven’t eaten crocodile meat or all the others,” stated the President

“They are all licensed, you don’t have to worry,” he reiterated.

During the session, Ruto also recommended two other spots where Kenyan visitors can get a taste of local cuisine.

At the top of his list was Bomas of Kenya that prides itself on the Utamaduni Restaurant among others offering diverse foods – from snacks and fast food items to local specialties.

“Find time and go to Bomas of Kenya if you want to have a taste of Kenyan culture. Find favourite Kenyan cuisine at different places like Safari Park. You will find Safari cuts and will be served different cuisines. It is a wonderful opportunity,” he advised.

“Don’t miss to eat Ugali. It is the local staple food made out of maize. In fact, for Kenyans, we eat pounded Ugali for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Sunday to Sunday and sometimes for 365 days and it never gets boring.”

The Head of State appeared as a guest at the summit which was the 13th edition and the first to be held in Africa.

The Summit, which kicked off on Sunday, will last for four days concluding on Wednesday, September 13. It attracted more than 300 investors from over 35 countries on its first day.

“Annual Summits are a reunion of the entire KF investor network in the most exciting innovation ecosystems across the globe,” read a description of the event.

“This invite-only regional tour aims to promote cross-border investments in burgeoning tech markets worldwide, with the most recent summits hosted in Mexico, Dubai, Japan, Israel, Singapore, Brazil, and China.”

As a guest, Ruto underscored his government’s pivot to technological focus giving tech companies a boost in their African investment. To streamline the sector, his team is also working on a start-up bill.
