Four Administration police officers on Friday morning sustained injuries after a lorry they were travelling in veered off the road at Kwa Macembe area along Embu – Kitui Road.
A source who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke revealed that the lorry belonging to the Special Operations Group (SOG) was part of a police convoy carrying Administration Police officers.
According to the source, the lorry was heading from Garissa to Nairobi through Embu before it suddenly lost control and veered off to the side of the road.

“I believe the vehicle developed mechanical problems because it suddenly swerved and overturned on the side of the road,” the source revealed.
Four Administration police officers sustained injuries and were taken to Embu Referral Hospital for medical treatment.
Traffic officers from Kiritiri police station also rushed to the scene to clear the road and manage traffic.
The officers launched investigations to establish the cause of the accident.
Road accidents have spiked this year, with pedestrians the most affected road users.
According to the latest data by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), 2,124 people died in road accidents from January 1, 2023, to June 25, 2023.
From the data, pedestrians recorded the highest number of fatalities with 729, followed by motorcyclists with 561.
Others included passengers (403), pillion passengers (196), drivers (189) and pedal cyclists (46).
The authority attributes the accidents to motorists not adhering to the traffic rules.
