Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba handed content creator Elsa Majimbo a gift hamper in Los Angeles, California after the two met on Sunday, February 4.
The Cabinet Secretary flew to Los Angeles to attend the 66th Grammy Awards. During his visit, he met Elsa at the Kenya Consulate and presented her with a gift bag branded “Talanta Hela.”
Together with his team, they unpacked the gifts one by one as Elsa cheered on in reception.
“I’m so proud of this tea, actually I have been drinking it for 22 years,” Elsa stated as CS Ababu handed her a pack of tea bags.

He further unpacked a coffee pack and a Maasai shuka which he draped over her shoulders.
“Blanket, coffee and tea in this cold weather what more can you ask for, I look like a proper Kenyan too” Elsa marvelled.
After receiving her gifts, the duo went ahead to take pictures in between the two stationed flags at the consulate.
Together with Ambassador Big Ted, CS Ababu had a brief meeting on how the duo could promote the Talanta Hela initiative.
CS Ababu, who also visited the 1500 Sound Academy, further discussed ways to collaborate in promoting Kenyan content globally and leveraging the initiative.
On June 23, 2023, while attending a cultural event in Kisumu, the Cabinet Secretary declared that the Kenyan government was negotiating with the American Grammys to promote local talent.
Thereafter, on September 25, 2023, he announced that they had signed an MOU partnership with the Grammys to boost Kenya’s music industry.
It was the second deal penned in under a week after he signed another deal with Hollywood’s Inventions Studios which is expected to grow the Kenyan film industry.
