KUCCPS Reports High Traffic in Placement Portal, Lists 15 Help Centers for KCSE 2023 Students

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has explained why KCSE 2023 candidates are having challenges accessing the application portal after multiple errors were reported.

In response to the concerns, KUCCPS explained that it was experiencing high traffic hence the challenges faced by students in their applications.

However, despite the challenges, the students were encouraged to continue applying through the system until they succeeded.

“We apologise for the inconvenience. The KUCCPS portal is open for application. We are experiencing high traffic but we encourage you to continue checking,” KUCCPS advised.

The application portal was opened on Thursday to all the 2023 KCSE students who are making applications to various levels of post-secondary institutions.

Notably, 899,453 students sat for the 2023 national examinations. On the other hand, the portal is also open to KCSE candidates who sat their exams between 2000 to 2022, which explains the high traffic witnessed.

Meanwhile, students in need of help with their application were advised to visit various Huduma Centres in the country.

The 15 centres listed were Nairobi (GPO), Eldoret, Nakuru, Kisumu, Nyeri, Garissa, Kakamega, Meru, Kitale, Thika, Mombasa, Isiolo, Narok, Laikipia and Kitui.

Assistance will also be provided at all Huduma Centre cyber cafes.

“In addition to the KUCCPS offices and the application support desks at the institutions, applicants who require assistance should visit any of the following Huduma Centres,” read the notice in part.

KUCCPS announced that the application portal will be open until February 22, 2024.

Tip for Students

Given the high traffic witnessed during the daytime, students can attempt to make their applications during hours when most people are inactive such as night hours from 10 pm – 7 am.

Additionally, have a stable network when making applications.
